This is how the well will look. The structure is fitted with a rope and washer pump made largely from recycled materials. Water is pulled up a pvc pipe with washers (made from the sidewalls of old tires) and attached to a knotted rope. The rope passes round a bottle fixed into a piece of sewer pipe at the bottom of the well. The wheel is fitted with the beading of old tires to make a channel for the rope.

This pump works very well to a depth of 50 or 60 ft. (16-20 m), it is cheap to make and easy to repair. And there is nothing valuable to steal. .
